Noble Construction Corp. is currently working on a 300-ton surge bin at the Mosaic K3 underground mine. Noble is also installing two conveyor belts that will continuously feed and empty the bin. The construction consists of steel bolt up, mechanical component install, welding, electrical install and critical lifts up to 38,000 lbs with a two pick hoist. This is the second surge bin that Noble has constructed along with various other ongoing projects. The project is moving along on time, on budget and most importantly SAFELY.
Noble recently competed a two year project to supply and install the North Surge Bin at the Mosaic K3 Mine site. This project was completed LTI free and required approximately 60,000 on-site person-hours. This picture contains only a portion of the significant project team that contributed to safely executing this project. Thank you to all those involved in this project.
The K2 Dyke Rehabilitation Project included installing a temporary Siphon system in the main pond to enable dredging of the pond to effectively rehabilitate the dyke walls. Noble Construction was tasked with the installation of the siphon boxes and all associated HDPE lines to accommodate this temporary service.
The function of the Water Management building (WMB) at the PCS Scissors Creek site was to have the ability to effectively dewater the shaft area from underground to surface, to provide hot shaft wash water supply, as well as air supply to the headframe. Noble Construction installed approximately 2000 feet of various sized piping in both carbon steel and PVC class, it also included the installation of a 1.0 million BTU boiler, air agitating system, all required instrumentation, complete hydro and non destructive testing. This work package was completed in accordance with Noble Construction quality control program and was finalized in 2015.
The Welby pump house project was initiated to supply more consistent fresh water to the PCS Rocanville site for the milling process. Noble Construction performed all of the piping installation for this project including below grade and pump house piping. These piping systems include the installation of the instrumentation, HDPE fusing technology, high pressure welding and quality control. Approximately 280 pressure welds were performed on this project which passed successfully through hydro static and X-ray testing.
With ventilation being a critical system in the underground mine workings the requirement for air doors is constantly changing. Over the past 2 years Noble Construction has installed numerous underground roll up door systems that establish correct and sufficient air flow to all areas of the Mosaic mining areas. These roll up door systems include the cutting and trimming of the initial area with Noble Construction’s remote controlled Husqvarna, mechanical and electrical installations along with start-up and commissioning.
With safety and efficiency in mind, Noble has teamed with Husqvarna to retrofit a DXR demolition robot with a mining attachment for ground control related work. The DXR unit provides our customers with an effective means of removing potential hazardous ground conditions, while allowing the operator to remain at a safe distance from potential hazards with this type of work such as ground fall. The DXR robot can be powered by 440V or 600V and comes with an array of hydraulic attachments including a mining head, chipping head and bucket. Please contact us for more information.
Over the past 3 years, Noble Construction has completed numerous underground mainline belt and auxiliary belt installations, totalling in over 90,000’ of belt. These installations are used to transport raw ore product from the miners to the shaft where the product is transported to surface. The work completed includes the mechanical assembly of the drives, the complete electrical system for the belt and drive units; and the erection cable belt structure. Due to the amount of work we have completed in this field, Noble Construction has developed specific training, policies and procedures to ensure that we are, and will remain, the safest and most efficient option for belt line installations.
Noble Construction is currently in the process of constructing a 15,000’ brine line. The project entails welding and fitting 14” pipe which is reduced to 10” pipe. Pipe line is positioned on posts and channel. The brine line will pump brine from the mill to an injection well. Noble Construction’s responsibilities include welding of all pipe, including expansion loops and fittings, tie in at the mill and the rig liner.
